WEC Lines has launched a regular shipping service linking Nador port to Portugal's Setúbal weekly, giving Moroccan exporters direct access to the Iberian Peninsula and onward connections to European ports such as Rotterdam and Antwerp.
The trip to Portugal takes about three days, cutting road transport costs and reducing obstacles for trucks on European routes.
The line is especially valuable for agricultural exports, which need fast transport, and can carry refrigerated containers.
It strengthens logistics momentum in the eastern region as the Nador West Med port complex approaches operation.
