West Med Container Terminal, concession holder for the eastern terminal at Nador West Med port, says the facility is now ready to receive and handle its first commercial vessels after successful operational tests that included the berthing of a trial ship.
The conditions required to start operations were met ahead of the set deadline, following months of preparation covering site works, equipment installation, systems and procedures, and staff training.
The trial berthing allowed checks on the flow of operations and coordination between procedures, reinforcing the port's position as a strategic platform in the Mediterranean.
