An investor in the cannabis sector is entering the legislative elections set for 23 September in Al Hoceima, chosen as list leader by the Party of Environment and Sustainable Development.
Candidate Ahmed Boumaan is campaigning on a slogan centred on defending people and the region, presenting himself as a voice for local concerns in parliament.
The party programme gives prominence to legal and economic legalisation of cannabis, support for families and producers, product promotion and new markets.
It also covers fisheries rehabilitation, backing for cooperatives, protection of forests, coasts and water, closer health services, school transport and road upgrades.
