The network of pioneer schools in Al Hoceima province expanded for the 2026-2027 school year, now covering 100 of 144 primary schools and 12 of 38 middle schools, bringing the province closer to full rollout next season.
Public education in the province welcomes 89,288 pupils taught by 4,668 teachers.
Participating schools use diagnostic assessments at the start of the year to measure learners' actual level and group them by mastery, before moving to explicit teaching after four weeks.
In Imzouren, Ahmed Boukhmakh school takes in 565 pupils across 19 classes in its third year of the experiment.
Coordinator and education inspector Mohamed Ousaidi said teachers reported to their posts from 3 September for pedagogical workshops, with intensive support starting next Monday.
