The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima issued a statement about a security operation on September 7, which resulted in the death of a police officer and injuries to two gendarmes and a civilian.
The operation aimed to arrest an individual wanted nationally for drug trafficking, forming a criminal gang, illegal immigration, and attempted murder.
According to the statement, the suspect opened fire with a hunting rifle on police, causing the death of an officer and injuring others.
Accomplices tried to obstruct the operation, but security forces arrested the main suspect and two others.
The firearm and a drone were seized.
The prosecutor's office denied information on social media, stating that the operation was part of crime fighting.
