Al Hoceima Prosecutor's Office Reveals Details of Security Operation Resulting in Police Officer's Death

The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima disclosed details of a security operation on September 7, which resulted in the death of a police officer and injuries to two gendarmes and a civilian.
The operation aimed to arrest an individual wanted nationally for drug trafficking, forming a criminal gang, organizing illegal immigration, and attempted murder.
According to the prosecutor's office, the suspect opened fire with a hunting rifle on police, fatally wounding an officer.
Accomplices also tried to obstruct the operation by shooting, but security forces managed to arrest the main suspect and two others.
The weapon used and a drone were seized.
The prosecutor's office denied rumors on social media, stating that the operation was part of crime fighting.
