Suspect Arrested in Murder of Woman in Oujda While Trying to Leave Morocco

The judicial police of Oujda, in coordination with the national security services of Nador, arrested a 58-year-old man at dawn on Monday, September 7, suspected of killing a woman in Oujda with a hunting rifle.
The arrest came hours after the discovery of the body of a 40-year-old woman in Oujda bearing traces of two gunshot wounds; ballistic tests showed the projectiles came from a hunting rifle.
Investigations led to the identification of the suspect, who was arrested in Nador as he prepared to leave the country; he is a Moroccan resident abroad.
Two cartridge cases were found in his possession, suspected to be linked to the case.
Initial information indicates a prior relationship between the suspect and the victim, who met on Sunday evening in the El Jorf neighborhood of Oujda before the crime.
Motives remain under investigation, and the suspect has been placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor.
