Circulating information contradicts rumors of a complete rejection of the list of Abdelhalim Fotate, candidate of the RNI in the province of Nador.
According to these sources, the problem only concerns the running mate Chouaib Ahannin, president of the commune of Bni Chiker, due to an old judicial case dating back to his previous term.
A judgment had been issued at an earlier stage, but Ahannin provided rehabilitation documents to the prefecture and continued to head the commune despite previous appeals.
With the tightening of control over candidacy conditions in the new electoral law, questions arise about Ahannin's eligibility, which could lead to his replacement by Mohamed El Amel, a businessman and son of the late Hossein El Amel.
Thus, talk of a complete rejection of the list is inaccurate, as it concerns only the situation of the running mate and the possibility of changing him, pending an official decision from the competent authorities.
Clarification on Fotate's list in Nador: issue concerns the running mate, not the list
