The Minister of Industry and Commerce stated in a parliamentary response that the industrial zone in Driouch province is part of a program to develop ten industrial zones in the Oriental region, in partnership with the ministries of Industry, Interior, Economy, and the regional authority.
The development agreement is being signed.
He also noted that the province will benefit from the “Nador West Med” industrial acceleration zone, spanning 2,631 hectares between Nador and Driouch, with 280 hectares for industrial activities in the first phase, whose work will begin with the opening of the Nador West Med port in October 2026.
This project will be a driver of economic and social development, creating jobs and boosting investment.
He also mentioned the signing of a framework agreement in 2022 to build and rehabilitate 51 weekly markets, six of them in Driouch.
