Mosque imam killed in Driouch province by deportee from France

At dawn on Friday, March 6, the province of Driouch was shaken by a brutal murder.
A man in his forties struck the imam of a mosque in douar Ibnouha, Amhajer commune, on the head with a stick during the dawn prayer, causing his immediate death.
The imam was about 65 years old.
The suspect, deported from France, had lived with his family in Ben Taïeb before moving to an abandoned building in a mountainous area near douar Laassara.
After the crime, he fled there, but local authorities and the Ben Taïeb gendarmerie arrested him without resistance.
He was placed in custody pending trial.
The incident caused panic among worshippers.
