The Al Hoceima constituency is heading to a decisive electoral appointment on September 23, with parties vying for four parliamentary seats.
In 2021, the Istiqlal Party, led by Noureddine Madyan, came first with over 22,000 votes, followed by the National Rally of Independents with Boutaher Boutahiri, and then the Authenticity and Modernity Party and the Popular Movement.
But the 2016 results showed shifts in the balance of power, with the PAM winning two seats.
This year, party strategies differ: some field new candidates like Mohamed Hammoudani (Istiqlal) and Karim Boutahiri (RNI), while others retain seasoned candidates like Mohamed Hammouti and Mohamed El Araj.
The competition also includes names like Abdelhak Amghar, Hanane Maâroufi, and Latifa Aabouth.
Success requires strong field presence and mobilization capacity, as experience alone does not guarantee victory.
