Nador: Prison Sentences for Three Youths Following Beni Ensar Incidents

The Nador Court of First Instance on Tuesday, August 19, sentenced three young men to prison terms ranging from four to six months, along with a fine of 500 dirhams each, in connection with the unrest in Beni Ensar and the vicinity of Melilla.
According to the Moroccan Association for Human Rights in Nador, the defendants 'A.A' and 'M.G' received four months in prison, while 'T.A' was sentenced to six months, with the same fine.
The association called for an end to legal proceedings related to crossing attempts and demanded the release of the prosecuted youths and minors, stressing respect for their rights and dignity.
These rulings came one day after other convictions in similar cases, with sentences of four to six months in prison, fines of 500 dirhams, and civil compensation of 36,000 dirhams to the General Directorate for National Security.
The decisions follow mass attempts to cross into Melilla and subsequent disturbances.
