Achn: Driouch marginalized due to lack of water independence

In an intervention addressed to the Minister of Equipment and Water during oral questions on 23 June 2025, MP Younes Achn said Morocco faces challenges of water scarcity and drought, but stressed that government efforts do not reach all regions fairly.
He explained that Driouch province suffers from clear marginalization because it lacks water independence, remaining dependent on Nador and Al Hoceima provinces without receiving a fair share of water resources.
He called this situation unacceptable and urged correcting the imbalance in water resource distribution.
