The official start of repair and widening works on the road linking the center of Ben Taib to the commune of Tafersit, in Driouch province, was given as part of a road project aimed at improving infrastructure and opening up rural areas.
The ceremony was attended by the governor of Driouch province, the president of the provincial council Mostafa Benchaib, and several parliamentarians and local officials.
The project extends over 7 kilometers and includes widening the road to 6 meters with shoulders of 1.5 meters, strengthening the infrastructure with two layers of asphalt, and treating a dangerous break point.
The total cost is about 23 million dirhams, funded by the Ministry of Equipment and Water, and work is expected to be completed within 12 months.
The project will contribute to improving rural transport services and encouraging local investment and economic activities, particularly agriculture and crafts.
Citizens expressed their satisfaction with the start of this long-awaited project, hoping that similar projects will cover other affected areas of the province.
