Two gendarmes injured in shootout with drug dealer in Driouch
On Sunday night, during an attempt to arrest a person wanted for hard drug trafficking in the commune of Ait Mait, Driouch Province, the suspect opened fire on a Royal Gendarmerie patrol, injuring two gendarmes, one by shrapnel and the other lightly.
They were taken to the provincial hospital.
The incident occurred while the suspect was accompanied by two others, who used the terrain and darkness to flee.
The regional command in Nador was alerted, reinforcements were sent, the area was cordoned off, and sweeping operations were launched.
