Mohamed Azroual, from the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS), was elected president of the commune of Ben Taïeb, in the province of Driouch, on Friday morning, September 6, succeeding the dismissed president Mohamed Fdili, a member of the Popular Movement.
The election took place at the commune headquarters, where Azroual received the support of 9 members, while 9 others gave their votes to the Popular Movement candidate, Mohamed Yendouzi.
This election comes after a period of political tensions in the commune and reflects a change in local power balances.
