The National Institute of Geophysics announced the recording of two earthquakes on Thursday morning in Driouch province.
The first, with a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale, occurred at 3:52 a.m.
(GMT+1) in the commune of Trougout, at a depth of 14 km, at latitude 35.136°N and longitude 3.815°W.
The second, with a magnitude of 4.3, occurred at 3:57 a.m.
in the commune of Ijermaous, at a depth of 11 km, at latitude 35.103°N and longitude 3.826°W.
The national seismic monitoring and alert network reported that the two tremors caused no material or human damage, according to local sources.
These tremors occur in the Rif region, known for its seismic activity, causing concern among residents and calling for preventive measures.
