The Union of Honey Cooperatives of the Tafersit Mountains, in the province of Driouch, supported by the National Initiative for Human Development, brings together local cooperatives of young people and women in beekeeping and the production of honey and other local products.
The project aims to organize local actors and move them from the informal sector to a structured economy, improving the incomes of beneficiaries.
According to the union's president, Faouzi Dalaou, the support facilitated the creation of an integrated network with youth and women's cooperatives, focusing on products such as honey, propolis, pollen, and essential oils.
Cooperative leaders said the support contributed to developing the productive structure and competitiveness, leveraging the region's natural resources.
A sales point was established in Tafersit to market the products, as part of 82 investment projects totaling 22.4 million dirhams, with 12.4 million funded by the initiative, to strengthen youth economic empowerment.
