The commune of Tsaft (Kasita), in Driouch province, was shaken on Saturday evening by the discovery of human bones in the Talamghit river under mysterious circumstances.
Security services and local authorities went to the scene to open an investigation.
The judicial diagnostic team of the Royal Gendarmerie of the Nador region conducted a thorough inspection, and initial indications suggest they are human remains, probably of more than one person, perhaps two.
The bones were transferred to Nador for advanced laboratory analyses, including genetic tests, to identify the victims and the circumstances of death.
Reports circulate that the bones may have been transported from another place and thrown from a bridge, where two skulls were found, one of an adult and the other probably of a child.
