Progress on Bni Aziman dam in Driouch reaches 70%
Authorities overseeing the Bni Aziman dam project in Driouch province have announced that construction progress has reached 70%, as part of implementing royal directives to strengthen water security.
Ongoing works include placing compacted concrete in the main dam, embanking both banks, installing metal pipes for water intakes, as well as drilling and injection works in the foundations.
The pace of work has been accelerated by 11 months compared to the agreed schedule.
The dam is 70 meters high and has a storage capacity of about 44 million cubic meters.
Completion is expected by the end of 2025, which will help secure drinking water for the population, support agricultural irrigation, and protect against floods.
This project reflects the dynamism of developing water infrastructure in the eastern region.
