Driouch province: early electoral jockeying and battle for nominations surface
Political parties in Driouch province have begun early preparations for the legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026, seeking to choose their candidates for the province's three parliamentary seats.
According to sources, MP Abdelmounim Fattahi is expected to run for the Istiqlal Party, Abdellah Boukili for the RNI, and Mustapha Khalfioui for the Popular Movement.
The PAM is experiencing internal debates over its candidate, though the name of Younes Ouchen is circulating.
Other parties such as the USFP and the PPS have not yet decided.
The 2021 results show the RNI leading with 20,464 votes, followed by the Istiqlal with 17,939, the PAM with 16,658, and the Popular Movement with 14,449.
