An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale struck the province of Driouch in northeastern Morocco on Friday evening.
The National Institute of Geophysics located the epicenter off the coast of the province, and the quake occurred around 11:30 p.m.
local time.
The institute confirmed that no human or material losses were recorded.
The southern region and the Atlas in Morocco are frequently subject to tremors of varying magnitudes.
