Shots fired at gendarmes in armed confrontation in Aït Mait commune

Two gendarmes were injured, one seriously, during an attempt to arrest a suspect wanted for hard drug trafficking in the commune of Aït Mait, Driouch province.
During the operation, the suspect opened fire directly on the gendarmes, wounding one with bullet fragments in critical condition and the other lightly.
Both injured were taken to the provincial hospital in Driouch for treatment.
Following the incident, security forces reinforced their presence and launched extensive search operations to arrest the suspect and any accomplices.
