Dangerous potholes on Tetouan-Al Hoceima road anger road users
Users of the coastal road linking Tetouan to Al Hoceima, via Oued Laou, Jebha, and Stihates, have expressed their discontent over the negligence of the Ministry of Equipment and Water services regarding their complaints about the lack of safety conditions due to numerous potholes, dangerous bumps, and random maintenance.
One user documented a video showing the dangers faced by drivers, especially migrants and tourists, near the Jebha area in Chefchaouen province, where the road was repaired outside standards and the bumps have dangerously reappeared, especially at night.
The danger is compounded by the absence of signage and warnings, which questions the promises of the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, to address the problems and conduct technical studies on landslides, without results.
Civil society voices in Tetouan have called for a proactive approach to address complaints, ensure safety, and identify and treat black spots.
