Al Hoceima constituency is gearing up for the legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026, in an electoral race open to several scenarios.
The constituency allocates only four seats in the House of Representatives, making competition fierce among parties.
In the 2021 elections, the Istiqlal Party led with its candidate Noureddine Moudian, with over 22,000 votes, followed by the National Rally of Independents with Boutaher Boutahari, then the Authenticity and Modernity Party and the Popular Movement.
For these elections, some parties have renewed known figures like Mohamed El Hamouti and Mohamed El Araj, while others have presented new names, such as Istiqlal choosing Mohamed El Hamoudani to succeed Moudian, and the RNI opting for Karim Boutahari.
The Justice and Development Party also participates with Hanane El Maaroufi, along with candidates from the left, the Constitutional Union, and the Progress and Socialism Party.
Contenders rely on undecided voters, who could tip the balance in a battle that redraws the map of local influence.
