Security services in Nador arrested two young men suspected of managing online groups and pages inciting irregular migration and organizing attempts to scale the border fence of Melilla.
The first suspect, aged 18 and from Nador, was referred to the local prison in Selouane after being accused of managing closed groups on WhatsApp and other platforms.
The second, aged 27 and from Fez, allegedly used French-language pseudonyms on Instagram and Facebook to evade surveillance, and was placed in custody.
This operation is part of efforts to combat virtual networks promoting irregular migration and to tighten surveillance around border areas.
Investigations continue to uncover the extent of these networks and identify other involved parties, reaffirming a firm response to any threat to public order.
