Al Hoceima hosts 8th edition of Bahour Al-Chi'r poetry festival
The House of Poetry in Tetouan and the provincial culture directorate in Al Hoceima are organizing the 8th edition of the 'Bahour Al-Chi'r' festival on July 30-31 and August 1, 2026, at Cala Bonita beach in Al Hoceima.
The festival features poetry readings, tributes, musical and artistic performances, and poetry and visual arts workshops for children.
Activities begin with a tribute to poet Hicham El Amraoui, a member of the Moroccan diaspora in Spain, with readings by poets Abdellah Dada El Ghazaoui, Driss Allouch and Abdelssamad Ajouaou, hosted by writer Samira El Azhari, and an opening concert by Farid Touzarine.
On the second day, a 'Poet in Exile' meeting with Hicham El Amraoui will discuss his experience of writing and creation in the diaspora, followed by readings.
The festival concludes on Saturday with a poetry evening featuring Saïd Abbouti, Souad Boulhiya and Boujemaâ El Krik, presented by journalist Ilyas El Khattabi, and a closing concert by Aymane Anazour and Ahd Azroual.
The House of Poetry thus continues its outreach to Al Hoceima, after three editions of the 'Amazigh Poetry Nights' in 2017, 2019 and 2024.
