Al Hoceima: coastal fishing landings reach 60.99 million dirhams in first half
Landings from coastal and traditional fishing at the port of Al Hoceima, until the end of June, reached approximately 1,078 tons, recording a decrease of 15 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
According to a report, the commercial value of these landings also fell by 16 percent, settling at more than 60.99 million dirhams, compared to over 72.42 million dirhams during the first six months of last year.
According to the same report, landings of pelagic fish declined by 27 percent, with a volume of 152 tons and a value of approximately 7.98 million dirhams, reflecting a drop of 18 percent compared to the end of June 2025.
In contrast, landings of white fish remained stable, with a volume of around 173 tons, and a recovery in commercial value, which increased by 9 percent.
Regarding cephalopods, they saw a decline of 18 percent to 701 tons, with a value of approximately 42.47 million dirhams.
In contrast, the volume of crustaceans increased by 70 percent, with landings of 52 tons and a value exceeding 3.51 million dirhams, an improvement of 34 percent compared to the same period last year.
