New information has revealed the identities of the two victims of the crash of a light aircraft near the Cherif Al Idrissi airport in Al Hoceima.
They were a French couple, Didier and Maylis, aboard a Piper registered F-GIEH.
The couple was returning from a visit to Montpellier and stopped in Al Hoceima to refuel before continuing to Tit Mellil airport.
Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft experienced a technical problem and crashed, killing both occupants.
Didier ran MDS Aviation, a company specializing in light aircraft maintenance at Tit Mellil.
A technical and judicial investigation has been opened.
