The Al Hoceima constituency is gearing up for intense competition in the legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026, with four seats at stake.
In 2021, the Istiqlal Party, led by Noureddine Moudian, topped the polls with over 22,000 votes, followed by the National Rally of Independents with Boutaher Boutahiri, then the Authenticity and Modernity Party and the Popular Movement.
Major parties are renominating familiar figures like Mohamed Hamouti and Mohamed Araj, while others present new faces such as Mohamed Hammoudani for Istiqlal and Karim Boutahiri for RNI.
The PJD, UC, and PPS seek to break into traditional strongholds.
The duel pits established elites, who master mobilization, against new forces aspiring to reshape the electoral map, making results dependent on the ability to attract undecided voters.
