A royal commission handed over, on Monday, a royal gift to the chorfa of the Alaouia Darqaouia Chadhilia Zaouia in Al Hoceima, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the death of King Hassan II.
The gift was given to the zaouia's moqaddem, Mohamed Ghamou, during a religious ceremony at the zaouia's headquarters, attended by representatives of local, security, and military authorities, members of the local scientific council, civil figures, and elected officials.
The moqaddem expressed the gratitude of the zaouia's sheikhs and disciples to King Mohammed VI, affirming their loyalty to the Alaouite throne.
The ceremony included the recitation of verses from the Quran and prayers for the king, the crown prince, and the royal family, as well as for the late kings Mohammed V and Hassan II.
This gift is part of established royal traditions honoring zaouias and chorfa, strengthening spiritual ties between the throne and citizens.
