5 Years in Prison for Drug Trafficker in Al Hoceima
The criminal chamber of the first-instance court of Al Hoceima issued an initial judgment in the presence of the defendant, finding him guilty of possession, holding and consumption of narcotics, trafficking and facilitating their use for remuneration, as well as illegal possession of narcotics within the meaning of Article 181 of the Customs Code, and manifest public drunkenness.
The court sentenced the defendant to five years in prison and a fine of 20,000 dirhams, with confiscation and destruction of the seized narcotics, and confiscation of the seized sum of money for the benefit of the public treasury.
In addition, the court ordered the defendant to pay the customs administration the sum of 172,200 dirhams, with costs and coercive imprisonment.
