Ceuta Events: Prison Sentences for Detainees in Nador

The court of first instance in Nador has handed down prison sentences against three more young men in connection with the mass migration events that shook northern Morocco at the end of last July.
The court sentenced one young man to six months in prison and two others to four months in prison, each with a fine of 500 dirhams.
The court had already convicted nine other young men on Monday, August 17, to sentences ranging from four to six months, with fines.
The Nador branch of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights said the trials took place without defense for the accused, and the court also ordered a solidarity compensation of 36,000 dirhams in favor of the General Directorate of National Security.
Human rights activists renewed their demand to end judicial proceedings related to crossing attempts and to release detained young people and minors.
These convictions come in the context of the unprecedented mass migration that departed from Fnideq and Nador towards Ceuta and Melilla, which peaked on July 30, 2026.
