The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) recorded on Sunday evening, August 30, 2026, a light earthquake of magnitude 3 on the Richter scale off the coast of Nador province in the Alboran Sea.
The quake occurred at 21:55 UTC (22:55 local Moroccan time).
An aftershock of magnitude 1.6 was recorded about 40 minutes later, at a similar distance northwest of the city of Nador.
No damage or injuries were reported.
