The provincial council of Nador has announced the upcoming launch of a strategic study to reassess and rehabilitate the transport system and logistical connectivity of the province, in parallel with the upcoming commissioning of the Nador West Med port.
The study aims to develop the road network to absorb expected economic and logistical flows, especially with the anticipated doubling of traffic.
The study will include a comprehensive diagnosis of existing infrastructure, focusing on national roads No.
2, 16, 15, and 19, identifying congestion and accident points, and assessing the capacity of roads to handle heavy truck traffic.
It will also propose multimodal solutions including road and rail transport, the creation of dedicated axes for trucks, and the integration of intelligent traffic management systems.
Experts in civil engineering, urban economics, geographic information systems, and sustainable development will participate in the study.
