According to well-informed sources, the governor of Nador province is leading negotiations with the Ministry of Health to restructure the healthcare offer, on the occasion of the opening of the new provincial hospital in Selouane.
The plan includes transforming Al Hassani Hospital into a specialized hub for cancer treatment, with the creation of an oncology center, and developing the psychiatric department at the local Mohammed VI Hospital in Al Aroui.
The governor conditioned the transfer of services on concrete guarantees for the implementation of the cancer center project, while maintaining the emergency department at Al Hassani Hospital as a proximity hospital.
Observers believe this approach balances the modernization of infrastructure and avoids a vacuum in services, meeting the population's needs for cancer treatment and mental health.
