The provincial authorities of Nador held a meeting of the follow-up committee to assess the progress of projects related to the Nador West Med port, in preparation for its operation before the end of 2026.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Nador West Med, the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water, Marsa Maroc, the National Ports Agency, the regional multi-service company, the National Railways Office, the National Motorway Company, as well as the Ministries of Equipment and Industry and Trade.
The strategic importance of the project for the economic, logistical, and industrial development of the province and the region was emphasized.
Discussions focused on the project's readiness, including securing land, strengthening road, rail, and highway connections, and electricity supply.
A roadmap for training and employment was presented to accompany the economic dynamic and align local skills with job opportunities.
The rehabilitation of the port's influence area, with improved housing supply and services, was also discussed.
This coordination aims to finalize preparations and make Nador a promising economic and logistics hub.
