The city of Nador will host from May 21 to 23, 2026, the second edition of the Nador International Theater Festival, organized by the association “Assame Theater Troupe of Nador” under the theme “The Magic of Theater in the Grip of the Digital Revolution”.
This edition will feature theater groups from Palestine, Tunisia and Spain, as well as Moroccan groups from Ouarzazate, Berrechid, Jerada and Nador.
The festival will bear the name of “Dr.
Jamil Hamdaoui” in tribute to his academic and cultural career, and will honor prominent artistic and cinematic figures such as Haimi Zriab, Benassa Mestiri and Fatima Ben Cheikh.
The program will include training workshops and conferences on actor preparation, stage directing and puppet making, as well as a special “master class” for the Palestinian delegation.
The festival will also set aside space for emerging school theater groups in Nador to present their works, an initiative aimed at supporting young talent and encouraging creativity in schools.
