New Chinese investment of 2 billion dirhams at Nador West Med port
The Nador region continues to strengthen its appeal for industrial investment.
Local authorities received a delegation from the Chinese group BOWAY to discuss a major industrial project in the Batoya industrial zone, attached to the Nador West Med port.
The project, costing over two billion dirhams, will cover 20 hectares to produce copper alloys with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year, creating more than 600 direct jobs.
Authorities stressed the project's importance for the local economy, prioritizing employment of local youth and involvement of regional companies.
BOWAY, founded in 1993, is a global leader in non-ferrous materials, with presence in several countries.
This investment reflects confidence in the logistical assets of the new port, which will soon enter service, and strengthens Morocco's position as a regional industrial platform.
