In an exclusive interview, Suleiman Azouagh, president of Nador commune and vice-president of the grouping of communes, explained the causes behind the spread of waste in several neighborhoods during the summer of 2026.
He attributed the decline in service quality to summer pressure and increased waste volumes, acknowledging the existence of black spots and disparities between neighborhoods.
He detailed the monitoring mechanism for the delegated company, stating that any breach of the specifications would lead to sanctions.
He also discussed lessons learned from past experiences, stressing that the new specifications will include clearer conditions on staffing, equipment, and quality.
He unveiled a future program focused on waste collection, recovery, and recycling, as well as improved monitoring.
The meeting concluded by questioning whether this crisis could become an opportunity to build a more effective and rigorous cleanliness system.
