Deadly crash on the Nador-Oujda road

A serious traffic accident occurred on Friday evening on the road linking Nador and Oujda, after a collision between a first-category taxi carrying six passengers and its driver and a light vehicle with Spanish plates.
According to initial reports, the driver of the light vehicle lost control due to excessive speed before hitting the taxi.
The provisional toll indicates more than five deaths, including the taxi driver, and several injured people, pending an official figure.
Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection officers went to the scene, where rescue teams faced difficulties recovering the bodies and evacuating the injured to Nador provincial hospital.
The crash has revived debate over the state of this road, marked by bends and narrow stretches, and calls to strengthen road safety.
