The secretary of state for maritime fisheries officially launched the expansion of an integrated white shrimp farming project in the commune of Skoura Lhadra, in Rehamna province.
Run by a specialised company, the project relies on a closed, intensive production system far from the coast, combining a hatchery with a fattening and packaging unit.
The investment exceeds one hundred million dirhams and aims for an annual output of four hundred tonnes and the creation of forty-five direct jobs.
The project bets on scientific research to turn the challenges of drought into development opportunities within a sustainable blue economy.
