Mohammed Premier University approves two new institutions in Nador
The council of Mohammed Premier University in Oujda unanimously approved the creation of two new university institutions in Nador province: the National School of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, specialising in marine sciences, and a Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Selouane university complex will thus host seven institutions.
University president Yassine Zaghloul said the move supports the major economic shifts in the Oriental region, notably the Nador West Med port project, through training and scientific research.
Four new institutions stemming from the split of the multidisciplinary faculty will open next academic year: Applied Sciences, Languages and Arts, Economics and Management, and Law and Political Science.
The university aims to grow from eight to twenty-two institutions.
