Landings of coastal and artisanal fishing in the Nador region fell 8 percent in the first eight months of 2026, settling at 2,201 tonnes worth about 100 million dirhams.
The decline was driven mainly by a 4 percent drop in pelagic fish, to 386 tonnes valued at 3.26 million dirhams.
Molluscs slumped 19 percent to 772 tonnes, cutting turnover to around 50.76 million dirhams.
White fish edged up 1 percent to 636 tonnes worth more than 18.34 million dirhams, while crustaceans slipped 2 percent to 407 tonnes.
Nationally, landings rose 6 percent to 723,490 tonnes.
