Recent election manoeuvres by several politicians in Nador province have sparked widespread controversy, with sources speaking of dual campaigns run simultaneously for one party and its rival.
An influential municipal president reportedly pledged support to one candidate while mobilising voters and elected officials, as well as municipal staff and casual workers, for a candidate of another party where he serves as fourth vice-president.
Private meetings are said to have brought together figures from a third formation to discuss vote mobilisation, while other parallel efforts are mentioned, with no official clarification of these roles.
