Nador West Med port enters commercial operation phase
The Nador West Med port project is entering a phase of gradual operation.
The eastern container terminal is set to begin commercial operations in the last quarter of 2026 after completing its operational tests.
The complex includes 5.4 kilometres of breakwaters and about four kilometres of quays, with an initial capacity of five million containers per year.
The ro-ro, cargo, energy and bulk terminals are to be commissioned gradually from 2027.
Public and private investments are estimated at 4.7 billion euros.
The road connection, particularly the motorway linking Driouch province to the port, is expected to strengthen the logistical and industrial appeal of the Oriental region.
