Human remains forming a complete skeleton were found near the Sidi Salem cemetery in Nador during field works carried out by public works crews around the site.
After being alerted, local authorities and security services went to the scene, and judicial and technical police conducted on-site inspections and gathered initial evidence.
Early hypotheses suggest the area may be a forward extension of the cemetery perimeter or a former burial site, though this remains unverified pending expert reports.
Under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, judicial police opened an investigation to establish the circumstances, identify the deceased and determine the period concerned.
