Floodwaters submerged most of the main roads in Selouane and the route linking it to Nador and Zaio, temporarily cutting key arteries and trapping several vehicles.
According to local sources, the overflowing of the Selouane river caused the disruption, while the road between Nador and Selouane remained exposed to further water until the afternoon.
Warnings over continued rainfall extend until Wednesday.
The floods exposed the fragility of the city's infrastructure and revealed flaws in some recent facilities, including the neighbourhood sports pitches.
