Mohamed El Hamouti, MP for the Al Hoceima constituency, presented his record at a meeting with residents, recalling that a parliamentarian's constitutional duties are limited to legislating, scrutinising the government and evaluating public policies, before local realities made defending the region a priority.
Responding to criticism over his limited parliamentary questions, he said he prefers preparing technical files, securing funding and monitoring projects on the ground rather than asking questions for media attention.
He announced the development programme would expand to 19 municipalities, with nearly 370 million dirhams for urban and rural upgrading and liquid sanitation, over 50 % complete, plus 100 million dirhams for Al Hoceima municipality awaiting release.
