Nador West Med port prepares for commercial launch in late 2026
Construction of the Nador West Med port is advancing on the Mediterranean coast, with commercial operations expected in the final quarter of 2026 and the remaining components phased in during 2027.
The container terminal has already received its first giant cranes and electrical equipment, signalling the shift to operational preparation.
The project includes about 5.4 kilometres of quays and breakwaters, an initial capacity of five million containers and investments exceeding 4.7 billion euros.
The 27-kilometre motorway linking Driouch province to the port complex is also progressing, alongside a free zone of 700 to 800 hectares that can be expanded.
This integrated logistics and industrial platform strengthens Morocco's position in international maritime trade.
